Oh yes!!! I too have now suffered from a CTD, but not from seasons or anything like that. It happened as soon as I unchecked "Render to Texture" in the display settings. Any suggestions (besides not unchecking "Render to Texture" :) )?

If its related to the Render To Texture function I would hazard the guess that it isnt related to the seasons bug but maybe to some DXT3 texture you might be using.Although I dont know if you're running it but I know that this is specifically true with the framerate friendly DXT cloudset from Chris Willis.Best advise; probably to just leave the render to texture checked :D
