Aircraft Folder ?

Featured Replies

HowdyWas just wondering if someone could do a check of their FS Aircraft folder and let me know if there should be two .dp files (default.CDP and default.dp) present? Was playing around (yes, I know that's dangerous) with an aircraft switching programme and I think(?) it has written a new .dp file to my folder, but I cannot be sure. As I am no longer using said switcher now, I would like to return things back to the way they were before.TIA

I've got FS2002, but a lot of the aircraft stuff works the same way. I have both of these files. If you bring up Windows Explorer and right-click on the file, then select properties, it will tell you when the file was last modified and when it was last accessed. Mine have not been modified since 2002, but they were accessed the last time I ran FS.

Howdy,Thanks very much, Capt'n. The .cdp is dated 19.07.2002 and the .dp 09.08.2001. Suspect they're installed during the initial FS setup phase, as I do not seem to be able to find them on any of the 4 disks (but that really was only a cursorary scan). Oh well; if they're both supposed to be there, no worries. Thanks again.

I don't have either of those files in my FS9/AIRCRAFT folder, Cap. All works fine, so what do they do? Am I missing something? I'd hate to be missing something. I'm always the last to leave at parties.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

Howdy Mark,I suspect that they're damage profile files (.dp = damage profile and .CDP = crash damage profile(?)). Dates back to CFS1 and 2. Opened both files in Notepad and they detail system location points such as left or right gear, rudder, et cetera with various % values. Then again ... I could be wrong. Anyone else know?

As Spock would say, "Fascinating, Captain." I have run CFS1, and have installed a couple of CFS warbirds into FS2002, a venture that started when the real-world found the old Lightnings up in Greenland.

I have FS2002 and FS9 installed. Both the files are in my FS2002 installation. Neither are in my FS9 installation. Hope this helps.
