October 3, 200421 yr I just unzipped the latest airac cycle from the FSBuild site, and the program will no longer show STARs in planning, and won't use them when autogenerating routes.I tried reinstalling fresh with FSBuildsetup, then the 2.1 update, then the fsb2updates.zip file -- all is well at this stage. Then I unzip fsb2_0410_navdata.zip file into the FSBuild directory, and the STARs are gone again, SIDs are still there. This is the first airac update I've installed to FSBuild, as I didn't know these were available directly from the FSBuild site. What am I doing wrong?* Orest-~~~~~~~~~Orest SkrypuchUAL1445 DENFOCYFD - Canada Orest Skrypuch President & CEO, UVA www.united-virtual.com

I installed it, started FSBuild and don't "seem" to have a problem. Now...some STARS aren't there to begin with and some are missing.....CYYZ as an example does not show all the STARS. If you post the route you are trying to plan, I can see what it looks like on my computer and to see whether you do have a problem.Lawrie

KLAX-KSFO, KSFO-KLAX, KSFO-KSEA, EGLL-KSFO) had SIDs but not STARs, both in autogenerated and the manual planning mode, after I installed the latest update.I think that it is likely something that I am doing with the update, rather than the data itself. Unaware that you have to update FSB 2 directly from its site (instead of the usual spot for AIRAC), this is the first time that I've tried to update it.In installing the AIRAC, I just unzipped it to the FSBuild directory, respecting the zipped folders, although I don't think there were any.Yes, it is too bad that CYYZ doesn't have complete info.* Orest-~~~~~~~~~Orest SkrypuchUAL1445 DENFOCYFD - Canada Orest Skrypuch President & CEO, UVA www.united-virtual.com
October 4, 200421 yr Hi Orest,In answer to your questions:>Did you re-index after installing? Yes I did and restarted FSBuild.>Any route that I tried, (some from memory ... KLAX-KSFO,>KSFO-KLAX, KSFO-KSEA, EGLL-KSFO) had SIDs but not STARs, both>in autogenerated and the manual planning mode, after I>installed the latest update.I entered in KLAX-KSFO. It listed the SIDS and the STARS. Ditto for EGLL-KSFO. This was not in planning mode. Then I went to planning mode and it was listed as well.>I think that it is likely something that I am doing with the>update, rather than the data itself. By default, when you enter CYYZ, rnwy 24L comes up. If you change the CYYZ runway, all the STARS are listed. I've noticed this for some airports. I've also noticed , at least for CYYZ, that if you don't have the complete list showing BEFORE going to planning mode, it won't list them all in planning mode either. Check out the FSB_STARS file in your FSBuild directory. You can use notepad to view the file to make sure that the STARS are actually there. I would then run the index under options and then restart FSBuild and see what happens. Lawrie
October 6, 200421 yr Fixed.The indexing was the problem.Thanks.* Orest-~~~~~~~~~Orest SkrypuchUAL1445 DENFOCYFD - Canada Orest Skrypuch President & CEO, UVA www.united-virtual.com
October 6, 200421 yr Hello - could you explain what indexing you are referring to and how it's done? Tx -- Dick Bixler
October 6, 200421 yr Hi Richard,In the options folder, click on the NavData tab, then the "Create FSBuild2 Navadata Indexes" box. Restart FSB.Lawrie
October 7, 200421 yr Thanks. Got it now.My indexing button had disappeared. Instead, the Options > NavData tab displayed the NavData website. I had tweaked the FsbDisplay.cfg to add the NavData website to the WebSites page, by adding:TreeView.Tab1.Tree6.Tab2.Name=NavDataTreeView.Tab1.Tree6.Tab2.Pane1=http://www.navdata.at/...in the appropriate place in the FsbDisplay.cfg file.Turned out to override the NavData tab on the options page! so I had no index button. Had to change to:TreeView.Tab1.Tree6.Tab2.Name=NavData_Web(ie, tab name must not be NavData. note that spaces don't work so I used _ instead). So now my Options NavData page is restored (therefore now I can index), and I have the NavData website on my WebSites page too.I post this in case others have added the NavData page like me and have not noticed the unintended consequence. Thanks again - Dick Bixler
