FS Traffic 2004- Can never land

Featured Replies

Hello AllI'm not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes.I have FS traffic 2004, and I love it, with display settings just right it brings FS to life with out killing frame rate too much, however a problem I've been having for some time has got to the point were I cant put up with it anymore.I fly IFR commercial flights mostly around one to two hours in length, the problem is after a perfect cruise, and decend to the approach ATC directs you when at the last minute a second plane descends on top of you, swings infront or from the right or over takes you, casuing a go around. One night there I was flying into JFK and had to do three go arounds, I know there are limitations to FS, but I just wanted to know how others get around this problem.Any comments welcomeSimon McGreevy

SimonI feel your pain and agony. I suggest you do what the rest of us simmers do and thats mount machine guns on the wing tips and blow them to kingdom come. Its our version of road rage.Don:-lol

I feel your pain too Don. I have FS Traffic too and traffic is set at 65% and 99% of the time I'm told to go around. It's like it's part of the plan/program. I do get some relief at KORD and KJFK as I have almost all runways open for traffic. I think you need to find AFCAD's where the author has made them more realistic to real time airport ops (i.e., more than just one runway open). If you haven't already, do a search in the library and see if you can't find an AFCAD2 which allows more landings at an airport. I'm doing the same.Jim

Hello All, Sorry, but I have to disagree! I like the machine gun - cannon idea much better. Will someone please create a program which will enable my Citation X to do this. There are times when that darned FedEx 727 that cuts me off on approach really needs to get flammed. Best to all and good hunting.Clay

I'm on approach, I can see the jet in front of me, distance 1.3 nm. "Hmm," I think to myself, "That's not enough separation. He's still going to be on the runway when I get to 200 ft. agl and I'm going to get another go around."200 ft. aglATC: Go around.Me: Sorry, Tower, didn't copy. Could you repeat that instruction?100 ft. aglATC: Go around.Me: Tower, didn't copy. Say again?touchdownATC: Go around.Me: ...(silence)halfway down the runwayATC: I said go around.Me: Say again.exiting runwayATC: Contact Ground for taxi clearance.Me: acknowledge handoff.
