default control settings

just did fresh install of fsx with acceleration. on my previous install, i had all my saitek yoke/rudder/throttle settings assigned through registered copy of fsuipc. only thing that was assigned through FSX was the hat switch to allow for panning the view. now, however, as i attempt to do the same thing, every time i start FSX the default settings return through FSX. i have checked my permissions and access stuff in the folder properties. all is well there. i really dont want to assign the pan view to fsuipc because its not as smooth. im just not sure why it worked before and now it wont. i have searched the fsuipc forums and google and no one can seem to find an answer for these problems. if anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated.
