Flyby - Invisible... Visible... Invisible again...?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Hope someone can answer what is going on here & have a solution..

After installing a new graphics card, I'm seeing a reduction in the rendering radius, despite my settings being the same as they were before. - I'll be dealing with the slower scenery & autogen loading time separately.

More specifically for this question, I'm seeing a 'reduction' in what seems to be the rendering radius of both my own aircraft AND Ai aircraft.

For starters, if i perform a flyby at speed with the zoom at 1x .. my aircraft is invisible (contrails coming out of nothing), UNTIL the aircraft flies past the 'flyby' view, at which point the aircraft pops into existence... When flying past,  the aircraft reaches some render decision point and disappears again..  HOWEVER if you ZOOM IN significantly... apart from distorting the flyby, the aircraft IS rendered!?

- It's almost as if a setting somewhere that was previous allowing aircraft to be viewed up to 10 miles away (both you and AI), has shrunk down to 1 mile!???

With my older card... The aircraft would be visible the whole time... starting as a tiny dot if flying very fast.

Ive' also noticed that this phenomenon is also affecting the visibility of AI aircraft... If i fly over an airport at 35k, the Airport looks empty... Zoom IN & the AI aircraft appear....

Hope you can help with an solution.

Cheers
