Bezcl new object series project

Powerful Weapons of WWII Series

As I recognised not so many WW.II. related object exist within DCSW and I decided to start a new mod series that want to fill this gap in paralell with other developments

First I selected some non-usual weapon that could serve as targets for both P-51D and CA mission makers as well. After that I should focus on some standard ground units as well.

All models will be CA compatible of course and has custom armor declarations for a better simulations...

The 1st mod within this series will the Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus German World War II super-heavy tank.

I'm certainly not complaining about "free" stuff, but the choice of the model is rather strange. Attacking a Maus platoon with a P-51 is about as realistic as attacking a platoon of "German" T-55s. IMHO.

Why Maus? The answer is really simple I have many unfinished models most from ~10years ago when I created many mods for MS CFS2. One of them the Maus.

Also I'm not an expert modeller  so I choose Maus first due it has a very few object and has most flat surfaces.

I have 72 unfinished model. But if you want "Combined Arms - WWII" should need some cloning at my side.

bad news

Ok guys I received some negative feedback about these mods. Mainly it's subject is to why I working on that even MiG-21 is not published. I know everybody eager for MiG-21 but the development is in place and all team member work hard on that. To avoid any misunderstanding I close this topic and don't want to post anything in relation with these mods anymore.... Should after MiG-21 is published.... (maybe)

Beczl ha puesto imagenes del sistema antiaereo S-60, otro de los añadidos al futuro Mig-21Bis

Yes sure it's done. Also finished the whole S-60 AA gun battery with Puazo optical range finder and SON-9 fire control radar in several months ago.

-Rudder- new info external model Mig-21Bis
---------------------

First, I'd like to wish everyone a safe and happy Independence Day!

For this week's new flash, there's not too much on updates, but I've been hard at work since I completed the cockpit.

It's quite fascinating the surprises I come across. A lot of geometry errors come from converting the model to different versions of 3d Max. In this case, it went from 2008 to 2011, into 2012. While zoomed in looking at the glass shape on the canopy, I found some frame errors with the polygons and overlapping attached objects. Then I started working on the internal structure of the nose area. In this case, the radar electronics' housing. Eventually I fixed them all up.

1045162_601230666565492_1038922198_n.jpg

My next goal was to somehow create the intake air duct. It took me several days and 5 attempts to get it just right. I duplicated the front section of the fuselage and applied a shell modifier to create the inside "skin". I deleted the outer shell leaving the internal structure easier to work with. After some grueling vertex moving and poly cutting, I eventually came up with what you see below.

So I stayed up for about 18 hours the next day and worked on the radar cooling compartment and alcohol tank. On my first attempt, I mistakenly created an MF version of the tank. Luckily Beczl had a diagram for the Bis', because that is one freakin' hard to find picture...lol The Bis' is rather bulgy and has two caps on the front. The dent on the fuselage had to be created again. Using part of the old fuselage as a template made it a lot easier. After this creation, I was finally able to delete the whole old fuselage.

I think I sleep problems... I burned the midnight oil again, to get the engine updated. Once a new engine "tube" was created, I exploded the engine and I was on my way. I fixed a lot of un-needed polys and isolated vertices. There were some radial array issues too, as the center alignments were off. The afterburn flame stabilizer rings were just unacceptable and had to be recreated. I then started to align the turbine fan, turbine, and heat shields. It is really starting to come together at this point. After recreating the three afterburn nozzle feather adjusters (in blue), I saw animation errors due to my radial array and pivot locations. I practically deleted it and started over. Now I could put it all together! I must say, the screen caps below, put together looks amazing. Beczl did an awesome job creating it in the first place. Big props.

Beczl WW2 MOD:

Since laz's PC is down I'll try and answer for him;

It's his little sideproject on the side of the MiG-21 / MiG-23, as he frequently has nothing to do while the rest of us chip and chisel away.

Many of the meshes are old ones he has on his HDD; which just makes it a natural thing to do as well.

Bezcl "confirm" the next module after the Mig-23 (after Mig-21Bis), the Su-22M3

Yes. you're right. After MiG-23 the next possible is the M3...
