Can someone remind me how to remove the annoying geen message bar across the top of the screen?MTIADave

The only time that bar should appear is if you are flying in Multi-Player (including VATSIM), which tells you that players have joined/departed the session or you have enabled an option in a third-party software (like ActiveSky) to send text messages.In either case, both of the above should have options to disable anything like that.

Of if your exit/tailhook/wingfold activate keys are pressed...check the library for a language.dll file. It will remove those and the parking brake messages....
