October 12, 200421 yr After installing the patch for FS9 I was so impressed with the better performance that I thought I'd up my AA and Anisotropic settings. Now when I bring up the GPS, my "distance to" in the top right corner has a black box over the numbers so I can't read them, as well as my bearing numbers in the left top corner. I've changed my AA and Ani back to what they were before, but the little black boxes remain. Anyone know what I need to do to get things back to normal?
October 12, 200421 yr The "black boxes" appear over these figures when you do not have a flightplan, or waypoints in the GPS.Dan.
October 12, 200421 yr Doh! Thanx Dan. I feel really dumb right about now. I spent a considerable amount of time trying to figure out what was wrong. Even uninstalled the Riva tuner because I had tinkered around with that. The problem was I had a waypoint in the GPS but failed to recognize that it was white, and was therefore a waypoint I had completed. I mistook it for a destination waypoint, so I thought all was well in that aspect of my problem. Thanx for your quick reply. I immediately entered a new waypoint and voila! The black boxes are gone!! I can get some sleep now...sigh.
