Couple of questions about fanda dash 8

Featured Replies

Hi,Apologies for not writing this on the fscentre fanda forum, but haven't been successful in getting an account set up there yet so I decided to try here..Just a couple of small things..- Has anyone noticed this aircraft is pretty heavy on memory over time (or kinda has a memory leak??). I have installed version 1.04 with the fs2004 update and am running it on fs2004 with fsuipc. The aircraft works great (and is great to fly) but a couple of times now I've had big stutters when flying IFR and reaching my destination airport / flying an ILS approach. Never had any problems doing vfr circuits for an hour so maybe it's just the autopilot or something?? Anyone else experience this / heard of a solution would be great to hear- Not that good with autopilots yet and every now and then will make a mistake.. Yesterday pressed hdg mode from nav mode when the heading bug was pretty much behind me without checking and the aircraft seem to extremely rapidly enter a turn with my virtual passangers probably not impressed until I could override it with the 'brakes' button. Just curious.. this autopilot seems to handle extremely realistically (although I have no real experience) but I have never been in an airliner which has turned that steeply (except maybe when capturing a localiser). Is the autopilot (and most fs autopilots also I guess..) realistic in this respect or is there another technique normally used in the real world to fly to a heading??Thanks for any help / information. Have only just found out about this aircraft but it is awesome to fly and these are really only very small issuesPierreps. I have a Duron 1.3Ghz with 384mb memory and a Geforce3 which could well explain the first point but my settings are pretty low and other (although less complicated) aircraft normally fly ok although fs9 default gps also gives me memory usage issues in the long term..

I could'nt even get the panel to work on the Fanda Dash 8. BTW...do you find that it creeps backwards with engines at idle? It happened to me all the time. Also I got no sound. After all these problems I deleted this plane. Pity, I wanted a regional propjet :(But I found the excellent Posky CRJ to replace it so everythings good now! :)

Hi,Thanks for the reply. May well try the CRJ also as that is a cool plane too.I love the Dash for systems though. Took me like a day to go through the sample flight and learn how to start it, run it etc. but at least for me it's a great feeling to fly (and it seems to work ok). I have also go that creeping back thing - was at the hold short line and starting reading the manual again and suddenly looked up and was like 20m back! But I think it might be because I pressed F1 so wasn't at flight idle but in the beta range with the props blowing air the wrong way.. Am still with much to learn about this thing I think..ThanksPierre
