October 29, 200421 yr Greetings to all of you.I must say I find there are lots of places to post. I just hope this is the right place for my first post.My question involves ILS feathers and their presence or absence in FSNavigator's map view.I use XP Home with SP2 and I have FS9 with the patch. I have dozens of addon airports and most of them show their ILS feathers in FSNav.A few addon airports don't show ILS feathers and I don't know why. With AFCAD2, if I try to add one or more ILS to an addon airport, I mostly get: 'You cannot add an ILS, they are all already installed'.After re-compiling the FSNav database, the 'already installed' ILS still do not show on the FSNav map view. I don't know if this problem is related to FSNav or to Afcad.I have been able to get back some of the missing ILS feathers but this involved renaming afcads to disable them, or deleting them altogether, or trying to guess the correct Afcad from PAI, and possibly other steps I can't think of now.I have not been able to find answers in regard to these ILS feathers in FSNav or PAI help sections.Does anybody know a sure-fire way to get ILS feathers to show up in the FSNav map view?Thank you very much.Joe
October 29, 200421 yr This is what I do to get an added ILS to show up in FSNav when I make them in AFCAD;1) Make the addition/changes in AFCAD - save it..2) Run FS9 and have it update the database and everything - once on the select flight screen, close the sim again.3) THEN run the FSNavDBC database compiler.4) Back into the sim and see if that doesnt make the new ILS turn up in the FSNav map.I think the key here is to let FS9 first run and update itself after making the changes in AFCAD before running the FSNav compiler.Hope it will work for you :)
October 29, 200421 yr Thanks for replying. It just does not work in my case, for some reason. Let me see if I'm missing something:I open the addon airport in Afcad to add an ILS and I'm told that ILS cannot be added to it.I save by pressing the floppy icon and turn Afcad off. I run FS9 and let it update and I shut it down. Next is the almost four-minute long database compile in FSNav.Running FS9 again, there are still no ILS feathers in the FSNav window for that airport. In FS9 cockpit's map, I can see that the ILS are present for all runways that have them. Still, no ILS feathers are are to be seen in FSNav map view.I had problems with the very nice KBOS addon, amongst others. I managed to get the KBOS feathers to show in FSNav but it took a lot of fiddling with Afcad and FSNav and I can't recall what finally did the trick. What I'm looking for are tips or guidelines on how to avoid getting into the missing ILS feathers situation in the first place - and once in that situation, how to add the missing ILS feathers if necessary.Any other ideas?Thank you very much.Joe
