October 30, 200421 yr This is something that's always kind of perplexed me about my video card settings (try not to laugh gforce 3 ti200). When you go into the performance settings you have a choice of 3 options in which to move the slider. From left to right they are: performance, high performance, and quality. Am I safe to assume that "quality" is the highest setting?Another pet peeve of mine is the manual that comes with the card doesn't tell you anything about what these settings mean. And another question. Why is there even an option? Wouldn't you always set your cards performance to it's optimum setting?
October 30, 200421 yr Frankly although I had a GF3 I do not exactly remember what these settings do. I guess it is Anisotropic Filtering that you can alter here. Quality is not the max performance setting it is indeed the slowest setting. Performance and high performance come with the disadvantage of a decreased picture quality.Alex
October 30, 200421 yr Thanx for the input Alex. The slider I was referring is under the heading "Image Settings" AF has it's own seperate slider.
October 30, 200421 yr This setting is pretty much a constant throughout the Geforce series; it's still there on the later cards and refers to the quality with which it will display textures, etc: the 'quality' setting will show sharpest and well focused. The AF and AA settings are under the 'more 3d' tab in DirectX (may vary slightly dependant on version of Detonator/Forceware drivers being used). In relation to FS9, I have found that with some add-ons, such as the British Airports by Gary Summons, if you don't have the setting to 'quality', then some ground textures will not show up (this had me baffled till I read his read me's more thouroughly!!).
