November 4, 200421 yr In the default aircraft of MSFS2002 they seem to handle very realistic. In a downloaded 772 MelJet I found at 170 kts which is rotation speed the response was very inaccurate (a/c didn't leave ground until 210 kts AIS!!!!).Does anyone know how I can get the settings for an accurate flight dynamic model so it handles realistically and then how do I do this in FS2002? (I remember that ProMax aircraft in FS2000 were so inaccurate (handling) I was very disappointed in them. They had beautiful model work done on them so many thanks to the authors for this)Do I have to copy a file or something? (a guy without a clue)I do have an idea on how aircraft handle because I have flown before. Just need some help with MSFS as above please.Any help appreciated.I will test POSKY flight models to see if they are accurate, but haven't done so yet. Thanks beforehand...
November 4, 200421 yr Hi, are you sure you trimmed the 777 correctly prior to takeoff?"In the default aircraft of MSFS2002 they seem to handle very realistic."Not all of us share that opinion - some of the default jets take off like a Saturn V and have the pitch stability of a roller coaster :-)The flight dynamics are mostly defined by the combination of aircraft.cfg and *.air file There are numerous replacements available on the net, just start a search here in the library.
November 5, 200421 yr Thanks for the advice.I am sure, and it was trimmed in the same manner as the default a/c as it was not changed, but ill check it.Remember though airline pilots don't pull back on the stick suddenly but gently lifting the a/c off the ground but positively.Remember when FS controls the aircraft the feedback is very poor unless you got force feedback. There is much development that needs to be done in this area until we can adequately say the a/c handles like Saturn.I may be wrong without knowing all.The 737s are very realistic. They are the sportscars of the sky and any airline pilot can tell you this.Even a 747 handles well in the skies. I think we need more airline pilots to give us their opnions here.
