Rwy12 users, is there a gathering place yet

Featured Replies

I love this program, I can finally do what I've wanted to for a long time, make airports come alive. I have almost finished adding planes, people, trucks, etc to most of the airports (30+) that will be covered in the upcoming Pacific NW MegaScenery area as I live in the Seattle area. But I have 2 questions, 1) Would anyone be interested in my posting the scenery here on AVSIM when I'm done? and 2) Is there a place that Rwy12 users are getting together to exchange ideas and help?

As for the first question I can't answer you, but I believe people who fly from those airports will love to see some enhancements to their airports of choice. As for the second question, we opened a web site with a forum page for discussions on Rwy12; http://www.rwy12.com/portal/It is a new site, so be patient with us.The original idea behind Rwy12 was to create a simple freeware tool for members of our community who don't have the time to learn and practice the more complicated existing tools. Rwy12 is not a replacement for those tools - it is just another utility that can make life easier. It all depends now on the wilingness of designers to contribute their creations to Rwy12 library. The more objects we will have there the better sceneries we will see coming upSeev Kahn

Some of us have already used Rwy12 to enhance our own surrounding airports. I recently release Huntsville International which includes actual Jetways and proper parking, in addition to the recent lengthening of Rwy 36L/18R. Someone else also posted a KBUF (Buffalo International) which seems to have a lot of jetways and vehicles.I am currently working on a 4 or 5 airport package covering the state of Alabama. KHSV (Huntsville) is already release, but will have additional vehicles when added to the "package". KMOB (Mobile Regional is currently under work, and the AFCAD and jetways have been completed). I will also modify the AFCAD for Montgomery Regional to reflect actual parking. The final airport in this 4 pack is Birmingham (which will be undoubtedly the toughest.I am considering enhancing Muscle Shoals near Florence AL, but I don't think there is commercial traffic going there anymore. I'm primarily enhancing the airports in AL that have commercial airline traffic. I am using Terraservice to verify positioning of all the gates and AirNav to verify the Navaids and runway lengths. Huntsville parking is correct due to the fact that they publish arrivals on their website and give gate numbers (and I have flown in and out of Huntsville frequently). The other three, I don't have any experience with so I am making a "best guess" on gate numbering. If you have any "gate" or "parking" information regarding Birmingham, Montgomery, or Mobile, I would greatly appreciate it, otherwise I will have to "guess" gate numbers and leave the AFCADS as generic small gates. This is a great product and I am sure more of us "newbies" will be encouraged to enhance their surrounding airports. Thanks to all involved with Rwy 12 and AFCAD.
