Tower View

Featured Replies

I installed active camera on my computer, but after playing with it for a while I decided it was to hard on my frame rates. (from 24 down to 21)I decided to uninstall it. Now I don't no how to get my tower view back to where it was before active camera. Can anyone please help? Thanks Chuck

Chuck, if you uninstalled the program through the shortcuts located in the main FS2004 folder the ActiveCamera2004.dll is removed from the Modules subfolder, so you are back to the default tower view. Perhaps you had several Active Camera entries in the registry database (hence you fps slight hit). Anyway check in your Modules subdirectory if any ActiveCamera2004.dll is still resident. Best regards,

When a flight is saved, the tower view is saved with it. If you saved a flight when Active camera was installed, it saved that position with it. Just delete that flight and save another. that should put it back like it was. Joe W.

>Perhaps you had several Active Camera entries in the registry>database (hence you fps slight hit).I'm not planning to uninstall Active Camera, but could you say more about this? For instance, is there something we should check in the registry that might be causing lower framerates?

The fact that 2 Active Camera dll's are installed in the Modules subfolder can cause a fps drop of 2 to 3 units, maybe more. This often happens when users do not use the unistall.exe before reinstalling a new version. Normally AC hits fps of 1 to 1.5 units maximum (knowing the fact that VC's are generally frame rate eaters).

hi. i just found and downloaded "flyby14.zip" by Valery Stenin in the avsim library. it is a sort of replacement for, and more flexible than, the normal tower view. it is brilliant and doesn't seem to be affecting my frame rates. it is very simple to alter the effects you want. in fact i couldn't understand it if it wasn't.
