AI Aircraft Texture Problem

Featured Replies

A problem has just started materialising on my system. After engine start-up - and usually when taxying out for take-off - all the textures of the surrounding AI aircraft lose their liveries and take on a hotch-potch of black and white 'boxes', 'diamonds' or 'zig-zag' patterns. I notice this after I have switched interior views several times. If I continue to fly, the same will eventually occur on the exterior and interior of the plane I am flying.Thinking I might have 'over-tweaked' my FS9 I tried a reload but it is still occurring - even though I am now mostly on default settings.I have a Radeon All in Wonder 8500 DV card and 1.25gb DDR RAMI am no expert but I could not find anything like this posted. Please help!!!

I had the same problem with my ATI Radeon 9200 video card. The problem only appeared when in FULL SCREEN mode.If I hit the ALT button twice, it would fix itself. The problem is fixed with the latest Catalyst Driver files. I recommend using the OMEGA Drivers from www.omegadrivers.netI doubt that it has anything to do with any tweaking you have done.I hope this helps you.

Very many thanks for that Murray. It seemed to work for me as well - so far! However, I was using the latest ATI Catalyst 4.10 driver when it occurred. However, I have downloaded the Omega equivalent and will try this out as soon as I can.Again, thanks a lot for taking the trouble to reply to my post.

Also, open up your fs9.cfg file in NOTEPAD and search for the word "DISPLAY.Device" (without the quotes). If you have more than one entry in the file, you can either delete the old entries, or better still, rename the file to fs9_old.cfg and let FS9.exe build you a new one. Please note that any customisation of this file will be lost when the file is rebuilt, but you have the back-up copy to refer to.

Hi,I am having same problems with Radeon 9200 and it started after I upgraded the drivers. Being computer challenged I want to start with the simplist approach, that is working with the fs9.cfg file, before I try to get new drivers. But I can't seem to find a fs9.cfg file? All I can find is devices.cfg and display.cfg. What am I missing? FS9 is working well except for the flickering textures. Thanks,Chief
