November 20, 200421 yr I agree with Bobby. This is a memory problem of the card. I have seen it with spikes coming out of the ground scenery. I would suppose that it is the graphic's card memory overheating. You could try to get some extra cooling for those memory chips.Alex
November 20, 200421 yr Thanks for the info :) I had a feeling I was using "everything she's got". Keeping it down to one VC and one 2d cockpit seems to keep in check. Was just nice taking that cherokee up with the 2 vc views, but not worth having the altimeter appear on the wing!I'll look into further cooling directly for the 9700 pro. Already have 8 fans on the case so it isn't an "ambient" heat issue.I'm still just amazed that I can do this at all :)__Josh'Tis the season for giving one's self an upgrade, no?
November 20, 200421 yr Just as an update to others, it seems that turning OFF AF stopped it completely but left me with some really yucky looking graphics.Turning it back on but down to 2x brought back enough graphics and only garbled in the worst environments. (i.e. major thunderstorm with rain pelting both VC views.)I generally keep AA off anyway unless I have a need to watch myself or take some nice screenshots. Thanks for the help guys :)__Josh
November 21, 200421 yr jeeze, no. Not since the orange double barrel days in high school. Or the strawberry and windowpane days after graduation...billg
June 7, 200619 yr Garbled textures flashing rapidly.I use two 21" monitors displaying 3d outside views. This tends to only show up with a lot of clouds or other hi density scenery. Also mostly happens when I have both views set to VC. It doesn't happen (usually) if I have left view as VC and front view as 2d cockpit. The second picture is how I normally fly (the monitors are angled to align the views properly)I used an external view to illustrate the problem but it happens inside the VC as well, with windows, props, wings and instruments being randomly displaced and flashing.
