December 4, 200421 yr Hi!I've been a big fan of the MelJet 777-200ER for a long time, but now I've just begun flying the MelJet 777-300ER instead. Now I have a problem I haven't had before. I don't seem to get as far as I'm supposed to do. With the 772 or way back in the days when I flew the 744 I got as far as I should. What I mean is that the range of the 773ER is 7880 nM but I only get about 6800 before I'm out of fuel.Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a way to fix this?/ HiScore
December 5, 200421 yr I don't have the Meljet 777 planes but there is a way to reduce the fuel flow. In the aircraft.cfg look for GeneralEngineData and then the line fuel_flow_scalar = 1You can reduce this by 10% (or whatever you think) to say fuel_flow_scalar = 0.90. This setting is probably not the cause of the problem, more likely it's the drag figures that could be wrong, but this is probably the easiest way to fix it unless you are fussy about the fuel flow rates shown on the gauges.
December 5, 200421 yr wind, weight?Range figures are based on a specific wind velocity and aircraft weight. If you're battling serious headwinds and/or are heavy your range decreases.
December 5, 200421 yr Winds were calm and mostly in my back. Not extremely heavy... I'll try reducing that value you suggested, Charlie. Hopefully that's just what I need.Thanks!!!/HiScore
