Can someone confirm DX10 AA settings

Featured Replies

I'm not sure why, but I started trying to get the best possible image (relative to AA) using DX10.  The best I could come up with visually (pretty close to shimmer/jaggy free) is the following (ignoring fps for the moment):

nVidia Inspector

Antialiasing - Setting: 4x4 [4x4 Supersampling (D3D only)]

Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling: 8x Sparse Grid Supersampling

[GRAPHICS]
MultiSampleQuality=4
MultiSamplesPerPixel=8

[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN.0.0]
Mode=2560x1600x32
Anisotropic=1
AntiAlias=1

It's important to note that MultiSamplesPerPixel and Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling should match each other.

Short, but moderate quality video (enough such that it doesn't introduce and/or correct issues) - 2560 x 1600 so be sure to select "Original Quality" in YouTube link (maybe a few hours before that option is available, but I think 1080p should work also - still heavily compressed from 6GB source to 700MB).  Look specifically at the distance details (runway ends, bay water, etc.).  I'm curious to know if this is the best AA we can get out of FSX or if anyone has come up with a better (quality wise) AA set of settings for FSX in DX10.

Thanks, Rob.
