Need some advice on fps

Featured Replies

Hi AllI could use some advice trying to get my flights a bit smoother. Thought I had a fairly decent system but am noticing that my flights are really jerky even though my fps averages around 15-18 fps. I do have everything turned up to max and everything used to run smooth until I upgraded to the ati card and sp2. I'm sure this subject has been milked but if anyone could give me some advice on tweaking I'd appreciate it. Also based on my specs, any advice on upgrading my video card? Thanks :-)

Blind Lemon, this is the Lemonadedrinker posting here! Go to the tips forum just above and print out Cruachan's advice on the FS9.cfg. I think it's fantastic and should help:-wave

Lots of lemons here!! :-) Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a try. Thanks

Anyway I will answer here:First of all get FS Autostart V1.1 and use it for every FS session. Then make sure you have XP service2 installed, and download it and install if you haven't yet.Third, get some FR friendly clouds. There's a good set here in Avsim that had been dowanloaded a lot these days. The name is realistic clouds. Only use the 32bit ones since in case you want to use the DXT3 ones you will have to keep Render to texture on, which takes us to the nextAlways have render to texture off.Never run any program when you are using FS9.With these settings my FR increased about 10/15 depending on the AC.Leo
