Moving aircraft folder out of Fs2004

Featured Replies

Having just loaded Wings of Power, it is taking a little more time to load FS2004. I remember a year or so back, someone came up with a way to load all of the "extra", non default aircraft in a folder OUTSIDE of the Fs2004 main folder and this seems to speed up the loading of FS2002. Anybody remember or know how to do it? Thanks, Jerrycwo4

I'm pretty sure a plane has to be in the FS2002aircraft folder to be used. BUt there are a couple ways to handle your problem. The "dumb-as-a rock" method is to just create a folder outside of FS and move any unwanted planes to it. Then bring back a specific bird when you wnat to fly it. This works fine if you don't have too many planes to manage.Another way that costs some money(but is very useful for large inventories) is to buy one of the several hanger manager products available. I've been using FS-AOM for a couple years and it is great. I only keep a very few birds "on-line" at any one time, but can drag any one I wish back into Fs to fly.-------------------Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember whatifdgsupport.jpg

There are some program utilities out there that let you create "virtual" folders. They look like real folders to the O/S, but their contents are in other folders or other drives. Wish I knew of a couple off the top of my head, but maybe this will ring a bell with someone and they can steer you to the right utility.-John

Where can I get a copy of the FS-AOM ? Jerrycwo4
