December 8, 200421 yr I find that on takeoff in the 182, the airspeed doesn't become active until about 30-35 knots. For example if you're holding in takeoff position and have a 25 knot headwind component the airspeed indicator reads 0 and so does the airspeed display on the top of the screen that appears when you hit control z. Why is this? This doesn't happen with any other aircraft in FS2004. The red display on the top screen should certainly show the headwind component. Is everyone else having this problem as well?
December 8, 200421 yr I would have to look at the .air file for the 182 (can't right now). There is an offset which somewhat controls when the airspeed becomes active, and I think this equates to simulating something in real life as well, where it takes a certain amount of airspeed on some aircraft before the airspeed indicator will register it. By changing the offset, you can change the when the airspeed indicator becomes active.-John

Is there anyway to change that.
December 8, 200421 yr That status display also recognizes the offset--surprising but true.... There's no way to change that as far as I know.
