Flight simulator termination without notice..

Featured Replies

Hi, I have recently been using Stellan Hillmerby's DC-9 panel. I have had some problems before, but managed to to find a way around them. However, I am having a bit of a problem, probably not related to the panel, but,I am thrown out of FS9 about 30 to 40 minutes into the flight. I have never seen this before, and find it specially odd that it will just quit (exit)the program instanly, it does not even shut down. Any ideas? The only thing different besides the panel, is the addition of a Windows update to my machine recently. Any help would be appreciated.regards,Mac.P.S.: I forgot to add that I use a registered copy of FSUIPC.

Does it shut down only when flying with the DC-9 panel or does it crash with any aircraft? It appears your sim is looking for a texture or a guage and not finding it so it shuts down. Make sure the textures for your DC-9 panel are not 8-bit as I understand 8-bit textures do not work in FS9. If the shutdown occurs to all aircraft you might want to remove your FS9.cfg (backup the orig) and restart the sim and let the config rebuild itself. Doubt the Windows update or the FSUIPC.dll is the culprit. Hope this helps.Jim

Jim, It seems it is only happening with that particular DC-9 panel. I just did a flight with another aircraft/panel and it did not give me any trouble. I apologize for the way I worded the message, it was late at night :) When you mention textures, do you mean exterior aircraft textures? As I merged E.C.'s/SGA DC9 with that panel, and that may be the problem. The lights are all out of whack, and it just does not seem right. Anyway, many thanks for your help, regards,
