December 31, 200421 yr I have been using Chris Arringtons excellent AEU V.6 and I really like the way its changed the look of the airport surfaces.I did notice a problem however and was wondering if any of you could offer some advice on a fix.The taxiways, ramp areas etc. are built out of adjoining squares and rectangles...the "join lines" (for lack of a better word!) between all of them jump about when I taxi planes around. Every line jumps which gives the impression of hundreds of bits of string being vibrated across them http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/kao/otn/pcrying.gifI have attached a screenshot although its impossible to capture the line-jumping, but the red arrows point to some of them. This is a still shot so only 10% of them are visible, if I could upload a 5-second video you would see the airport area swamped with flickering jumping lines!Could you please help...if you can!!!Thanks friends :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/102146.jpg
December 31, 200421 yr I have been using the same upgrade since last spring and I have not noticed this. Perhaps there is a specific FS9 or videocard setting that can cause this?
December 31, 200421 yr <<< I have been using the same upgrade since last spring and I have not noticed this. Perhaps there is a specific FS9 or videocard setting that can cause this? >>>That might just be it...perhaps the upgrade does not like the ATI card I have :(I have played with all the details settings in FS9 but the problem remains. Id still rather have the upgraded scenery rather than go back to the default....but I wish I could fix the jumping!
December 31, 200421 yr I found the cause. Its something I overlooked before: the MIP mapping detail. I had it set to 7. But if set to 5 or below the jumping lines vanish - but of course I pay a price by losing out on distant detail. I wish it would stay stable at a #7 detail level! I think I will tolerate the jumpy lines and keep the MIP slider maxed.... I shall try emailing Chris Arrington and ask for his help!
