January 24, 201412 yr Hi there! I am flying X Plane 10 and FSX in windowed mode with a 1920 * 1080 resolution on one 27" monitor. While flying, Internet Explorer, a chart viewer and programs like EFASS, PFPX or Plan G are running in the background. Instead of switching between the programs or having my FSX or X Plane window partially hidden by other programs, I´d like to connect a second monitor (an old 1024 * 768) to drag the windows of the other running programs onto it. Will this have an noticeable impact on the frame rate of the flightsim running on the main screen?

Mik, I'm running four 1920x1200s off a gtx670 so you should be right. My guess is that the 1023x768 would have close to zero effect on fsx. gb. YSSY. January 24, 201412 yr Hi! Thank you for the answer! So, I´ll defintely give it a try this weekend! If it works really good, maybe I´ll get myself a second full HD 24" monitor anytime soon.
January 24, 201412 yr But running a browser while running FSX can really tax a cpu and use system resources. Keep that in mind. Reason for most FSx woes.
January 24, 201412 yr Sure, but I am doing that always! ;-) No serious problems or CTDs have happened yet. Checking the forums, getting the latest METARs, etc. is what I usually do during cruise.
