February 16, 201412 yr Are there any new turboprops in development for FSX at the moment?I've taken a break from the simming world, spending time with my grandmother who has some health complications, I've wondered about a revised ATR for FSX, or probably a Q300 since 2012, I've done searches but haven't been able to get any answers. The closest thing I got to was RAZBAM opening a poll for a turboprop for them to develop in the future. http://www.razbamsims.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=418 The ATR 72 won that poll. But RAZBAM has not replied regarding the results of that poll. I too would have voted for an ATR; it is getting a tonne of interest and orders for the 600 variant have been through the roof. An operator, (LIAT) has received more than 6 600s (72s and 42s) in the past half annum, and is ordering 4 more (72s and 42s). With all the real world interest I was wondering if there is a reason developers over look the ATR. Just to remind any potential developers of the possible profits to be made; The Virtualcol ATR actually made a noticeable sale from their mediocrity of an ATR. Now Granted Virtualcol isn't pushing for an advanced simulation I thought this was remarkable. People actually still show interest for the Flight One ATR, regardless of the stability issues, outdated design, cockpit, geometry, performance etc. The Flight One ATR was released nearly 10 years ago...(31st October 2004 To jog your memory). Now with that being said I find it weird that companies would push the developments of aircraft that simmers will buy and use for a month before retiring them (Guilty). Majestic, PMDG, A2A are all on the right path, by developing airplanes that are actually relevant. With VATSIM and its Virtual Airline system growing side by side, having airplanes to fit into real world schedules is a must. The reason the Flight One ATR survived because there is simply nothing else to use in its place, I applaud the developer who will take the challenge to make a revised ATR, I can only imagine the sales of such a venture. Sorry for stretching this out - but sometimes I just wonder if anyone shares my thoughts. With all this being said, does anyone have any information about any worthy Turboprops? LOL Thanks for reading.
