still that opening screen

Featured Replies

I have changed the show_opening_screen value to zero in the FS9.cfg, but I still get the opening screen everytime I start FS9. Somebody can help me out here?Andreas HermesEDDH

Hi,That entry is confusing! It does not mean not to show the splash screen. The opening screen is the options screen where you can change FS options, plan a flight, enter the scenery library, ect. If you already have a default flight set up it is best to leave this to zero. After all that I hope that is what you meant by opening screen! Not sure if you can totally get rid of the splash screen. I do know you can change it!!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

In fact, I mean that opening screen you describe. Despite of having saved a default flight. The opening screen still appears.

You have the correct line and value, but you may be modifying the wrong file. You want the config type file NOT the text document type file. Yes they are in the same folder and yes it is confusing which file to modify. The best way to tell: start and then exit FS. The file that was just modified is the one you want to work with. FS saves your settings to this file everytime you shut down.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
