February 3, 200521 yr Anybody have an .air file (and aircraft.cfg file) for an MSFS Cessna 182 that fixes the prop control problem in the default aircraft, specifically the correct TBL 508 and 509 parameters for torque coefficient and friction torque?
February 4, 200521 yr Well, here I am talking to myself again. I found what I was looking for at http://www.realairsimulations.com/, a refined flight model for FS2002 Cessna C182S and the C208B plus the world reknown Kangan Batman TAFE Cessna 172 aircraft. The RealAir 182 .air and cfg solves the prop control problems as well as greatly improving the flight model. Thank you RealAir!!!In case you are interested in the prop problem:Both FS2002 Pro Cessna 182s "s" and "rg" with constant speed props have a faulty relationship among the tachometer, fuel flow indications and engine sound pitch as they respond to change in the prop control (among other things). Here's what happens (as you may know)...The C182s Skylane straight and level, 140 kts, 3/4 throttle, MAP 20, prop control FWD, 2500 rpm, fuel flow 12gph. Pull the prop control AFT. The rpm drops to 2000 and MAP stays at 20, OK? but the engine sound increases pitch!, the fuel flow increases to 17gph!, and the airspeed increases to 160! and I did not touch the throttle! Not what one would expect! If you want details see Rod Machado's rigorous explanation of constant speed props at:http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimul...o_propeller.asp(Ironic where it is posted)
