FS9.1 and full screen

Featured Replies

So I just spent at least 3 hours dealing with the FS9.1 patch. When I first ran it, I no longer had any gauges or panels in full screen mode. With all the other installs along the way, I figured something went wrong. No problem - not too early in the process to do a clean install on all three computers (avid WidevieW user). This time I do everything correctly - virgin install of FS9 immediately patched to FS9.1 (after first doing a test run to make sure everything is OK). As soon as I launch FS9.1...you guessed it - no panels or gauges in FS mode! I uninstalled 9.1 and the gauges/panels are back. I'm not even using a cracked executable yet!!I've not seen anyone else complain about this! The 9.1 installation was successful on all 3 machines without a single hang-up. And all three machines have the missing gauges/panel problem in FS mode. Am I the only one to encounter this problem? Or maybe I'm the only simmer who still flies in FS mode (he says tongue in cheek). So what gives? I know I'm a 120V bulb running on 12V, but it shouldn't be this difficult. I'm going to crawl into a corner now and assume the fetal position.Edit - and as part of the bonus package, my instrument panel returns when I press the alt key (in FS mode) to pull up the menu. I'm starting to think that I may have issues with the GC drivers - it has been a while since I updated (don't laugh - I don't even know what version I have).

Apparently 43.45 drivers were just a wee bit too old. Everything is hunky dory with 66.93.I told you not to laugh...Let that be a lesson to the other old fogies out there. Don't forget to update your very old video card drivers when you install a new game!
