Adjusting Landing Gear Drag

Featured Replies

I have some add on aircraft that don't slow down when the langing gear is extended. Is there a line in the aircraft.cfg file for this, or is it a flight model only adjustment?

Search for a prog named "aired" to open and edit the .air file of the aircraft where you can alter the gear drag. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106078.jpg

Search the library here for a toll called AirEd, or something similar, which will 'open' the *.air files which are found in the aircraft of choice's main directory.Once opened, you'll discover all manner of things which can be altered including landing gear drag. I've included a *.jpg showing an example from the default Cessna 172 *.air file when opened in the AirEd program.

Thanks for the input guys.I used AirEd to change the Landing Gear drag, but the airplane didn't change characteristics. The .air file is confirmed to be the one in that aircraft's folder and the modified date reflected today. The Arrow III by Dave Marciello works fine the Twin Comanche by Don Moser doesn't nor does the single Comanche by Mike Stone. It was the twin Comanche air file I was trying to correct today. Is there another byte that needs switched to enable Landing Gear Drag to be active?
