777 installation issue

As an avid user of the PMDG 747, I thought I'd try the new 777.

Unfortunately though, when I click on the installation icon, and the installation wizard starts, I just get an error message saying 'Unable to locate fsx.exe. Unable to install'.

 

In the PMDG read me file that comes with the download, it says that I have to manually navigate the installer. This would be fine if there was an option to do this during the installation process. There is not however.

 

I have read through numerous forums and the only answer I found was to use the FS Flight Registry repair tool, which I have tried (and run as administrator), but alas, still nothing.

 

Anyone have any bright ideas?
