Older Graphics Drivers better???

Featured Replies

I tried every solution mentioned in this great forum on how to solve stuttering but to no avail, I have the latest graphics card drivers for my geforce fx5200 but the stuttering got worse, so I was wondering which older driver should I download that might help my cause a bit???Thanks in advance

Hard to say with Nvidia drivers, depends on your system. One driver that works great on one system doesn't necessarily work good on another. I'm not a pro but from painful experience I learned that uninstalling one driver and installing the new one, properly is crucial. Delete old one in addRemove, reboot into safe mode, run program like Driver cleaner pro http://www.drivercleaner.net/ . Reboot back into windows and install new driver. Another thing that has worked good for me is trying modified drivers. I presently use an Extreme G driver from http://www.tweaksrus.com/index.php?option=...ntpage&Itemid=1, and works great for me. These are usually leaked drivers that are tweaked for better performance, quality etc. Must remember that these are not official drivers so be sure to download from known tweakers. Can find who they are in forums like 3d guru, and Driverheaven . Scanned Article on modified drivers http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?threadid=125366 . Sorry for being long winded. But hopefully something to think about.

I was looking at this post, thinking I could add something, but no, it's all covered in one post. Should it be moved to the hardware forum? No, they are junkies. There's noobies here that would love this info. billg

and do a search on these boards for stuttering. We have great speech therapists here. Pay particular attention to the one about PCI bus speed, or whatever it is. There's a download for it here at Avsim. And, if you're using an intel chipset, download the intel application accelerator, it makes a huge difference. It's on the intel website. It's a must have. Good luck!billg

Will try your suggestions and see how everything goes
