Steering wheel isn't recognized mid flight

Hi,

I am using FSX with a steering wheel, and if i connect it before i start FSX-everything works fine. But when i am connecting the wheel in mid flight it doesn't recognize it (it works ith EZDok, the computer recognizes the wheel in the control panel ,but FSX doesn't). Any ideas? Thanks 

(I am in mid flight with fspassengers and i can't save the flight.. so i have to connect the wheel without exiting FSX)

Update: now fsx crashed! The fault module is d3d9.dll (i exited EZdok and it crashed). How do i prevent this? Do i need to disable ENbseries?
