missing voices

Featured Replies

Good morning! FS2004 has been running great until about 6 hours ago. I cranked up the computer (Dell Dimension 4300, WinXP sp2), loaded a previously saved (and flown) flight, but when I called ATC and got the text window, I see the chat but get no audio. I hear the plane's engines, etc., fine - so the problem seems to be somewhere in the ATC module. I went to Settings, ATC and found Pilots Voices unchecked. Don't know how that happened ... but when I put the checkmark back in, there were *no* voices listed in the pull down menu. Even after a complete re-start of FS2004 there are still no voices in the pull down menu.I've never done any FS modifications other than adding a few new aircraft. Don't remember doing any config changes involving sound files or settings.ATC seems to work fine otherwise - there are just no pilot or tower voices to choose (and all other audio works fine). FS Manager doesn't detect any problems.Any clues or suggestions? Thanks.Tom

have a check up on these options.FS9.CFG( If your not sure where this is, use search tool because it probably in a hidden application folder.)Of course use Notepad or similar to open the file.[ATC]AutoOpenAirTrafficWindow=1UsePilotVoice=1ShowATCText=1PilotVoice=262145If the above is ok, leave it as it is.You could try and use the ZIP attachment i have included.(Has been scanned by NAV) Its the ATC module which holds all the voices. If you would rather check something else, try looking for the file on your FS9 installation cd's.Hope this helps.Cheers.

I cannot help you except to say that I started using FS Manager a few days ago and my ATC voices disappeared although all other sounds remained. I too, am searching for tips.....Good luck!

there should be sound dll files somewhere on the original CDs. maybe try putting them in your directory again?

Restore the original GVP file. Instructions can be found here:http://www.editvoicepack.com/readme.html#ToC23You can follow the instructions even if you do not use EditVoicepack.
