Fixing Scenery.cfg file errors

Recommended Posts

Has this ever happened to you?

You have your OS on a small SSD (C:) and FSX data installed on D: but mistakenly install another big scenery add-on to C: instead of D: ?

So you remove and re-install the add-on to where it's supposed to be but every time you load FSX you still get a big error message -  'can't locate C: /.../area 117' despite your best efforts.

1. Go to (C:)/ProgramData/Microsoft/FSX
2. Open Scenery.CFG

[Area.117]
Title=MegaSceneryEarth Hawaii
Local=C:\MegaSceneryEarth\Hawaii

CHANGE TO

[Area.117]
Title=MegaSceneryEarth Hawaii
Local=D:\MegaSceneryEarth\Hawaii

THEN SAVE

It's not a hard fix, it's just hard to know exactly where to fix.
