February 28, 201511 yr Hi Chris, Last week I downloaded the Berlin lights demo, and was completely blown away by how much this transformed my sim, but I have a quick question or two please. Currently, I am running the ORBX night lighting (I found that the demo integrated with this fine) but since I have used ORBX lights with ORBX Global, I've noticed that the lights seem to "dissapear" at around 4,000 ft agl or so. I did not notice this with the Berlin demo, however when I flew a 737 test flight out of Tegel, I think at one stage the lights area seemed to come to an end, as it was pitch black outside the cockpit. Can you confirm that this may be the case please, that I may have reached the geographical limits of the demo? Also, at what kind of altitudes should I expect that the lights would no longer be visible? Lastly, would it be viable to add what I call "horizon lighting" to the product? What I mean is in real life, several times when I have flown front seat at night, you may be able to see a faint line of lights at a major city at perhaps 100klms away. That would be awesome in FSX. I've already put in my order for UK lights, pretty sure I will be buying the rest of Europe too. Thanks for all of your hard work on this. Andrew. Kind regards, Andrew.
February 28, 201511 yr Hi Andrew, thank you for your kind words and supporting our work to answer your first question; Berlin demo is constrained to Berlin city boundaries its very likely that you have reached the end of the geographical demo area for Berlin our work should integrate with all third party addons with no accept ions atm; as for lights disappearing at 4k ft; that’s the first i hear of it; our lighting system is clearly visible from space (75k and up) many simmers often neglect tuning their actual monitor functions like contrast and proper color balance and saturation ; which could significantly reduce your experience at night if left un tuned
February 28, 201511 yr Author Hi Chris, Thanks for the advice. I've tweaked my monitor for best results (I'm an IT Engineer) but I'm greatly looking forward to downloading the UK when my purchase has cleared. I will probably buy the rest of Europe as well, as I fly mostly regional out of the UK. Thanks again, Andrew. Kind regards, Andrew.
February 28, 201511 yr wonderful Andrew if you have any issues with NEUK lighting when you install; I'm always around and happy to help
