Main Panel

Featured Replies

When I loaded the planes "e_special_electronic_usaf_package" on my machine in the panel the "main panel.windows bitmap image" did not appear and all I see are the gauges... I can't find anything wrong in the panel.cfg... Has anyone else had the problem and have a fix for it...Ron Mashburn

If you maybe wrote what exactly you are talking about, maybe someone would even be able to help you or point you in the right direction...Noone can just guess your thoughts, ya know?

"If you maybe wrote what exactly you are talking about, maybe someone would even be able to help you or point you in the right direction...Noone can just guess your thoughts, ya know?"Whoa there--he described a problem perfectly that I have seen with some add-ons--so please lighten up. Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean he didn't clearly state his problem. To answer the original post, I have seen this with about one add-on out of a hundred. I usually find an error in the panel.cfg and/or the panel.bmp. First thing I usually try is to resave the panel.bmp (whatever the name) in MSPaint just on the odd chance it's in the wrong format. Checking out the panel.cfg is a bit more challenging--I don't have this add-on so I can't tell you if there's any obvious problems in the panel.cfg. But one other issue may be the sim attempting to load two panel windows at once. Cycle through shift/2 through shift/5 to see if you can get the panel to appear. You may find one of the pop ups causing a problem with the main panel.-John

I know what your talking about and that plane did it to me too, I couldnt get the panel to show up either but I thought the VC stunk so I deleted the whole plane, the ugly VC wasnt worth the trouble to get the panel working...

I most recently ran into this with a great aircraft--the Socata from Barry and the gang at Premier. I found the yoke pop-up was causing the issue. If I modified the panel.cfg so the yoke pop-up didn't load by default, the rest of the panel appeared normally. This was also sim specific--a problem with FS2002 but no problem at all with FS9. The original post did leave off which sim was involved, so if he were trying to load an aircraft designed around FS9 into FS2002, that could be part of the issue. -John

Thank's for the the help from those who did... I feel my post was quit clear... I will take the suggestions in mind and good look at all of them...Ron
