June 8, 200520 yr I own most of the planes by Carenado, and they all are great. I do have one problem with their new 182. When taking off, it seems as though a lot of back pressure is required compared to other planes of the same type. Is it just my joystick, or is the flight model supposed to act like this? Thanks for any help.

With trim set to the takeoff position, which mine is by default, it "feels" just fine. Requires back pressure to rotate, but nothing out of the ordinary. Once climbing, I up trim for a hands off climb rate.L.Adamson
June 9, 200520 yr Gotta remember that there is a beefy 6 cylinder out front, its gonna be a little heavy.
June 9, 200520 yr I noticed that too...at first. What I found was that the elevator trim needs to be set for a little more nose up trim than you get when using the T/O setting mark. (On my rig. Your results may vary.)In addition, the trim wheel move VERY slowly. At first, I thought the machine lacked sufficient nose up elevator authority but I was mistaken. I just had to "ride" my trim wheel button for a longer period of time and everything was fine. And ITRW, the 182 is notoriously nose heavy and the nose gear assembly is a maintenance hog for that reason.Excellent flight model overall.Regards,Jim
