June 9, 200520 yr Shouldn't you be able to set QNH on the A36 somehow somewhere on the panel itself...? The only thing you can do now is press 'B' to calibrate the altimeter... Or am I missing something (like the point... ;))? I also remember there is a key for calibrating the compass (wasn't that D?): shouldn't you be able to set that (or whatever) on the panel itself?

June 9, 200520 yr I think HSIs use gyros but also use a magnetic flux sensor to automatically correct for drift. They don't drift so that's why you don't see an adjustment knob on HSIs. Also, GPS (as far as I know) can not tell heading, only track so it can't tell you where the nose is pointing.
