June 12, 200521 yr It looks good though I want to buy the VFR UK edition with it and Switzerland Pro and Paris Basepack. That might do Europe! On a sweeter note though I think FS2004 has done an awesome job as the comparison shots has shown how close to the real thing they came. I think Aerial scenery is great and can't wait to get it (I got Japanscenery's Tokyo and Megascenery Socal) but the stuff Microsoft has done is impressive when you think they have covered the world. (Well maybe not exactly outback India or Pakistan).Danielwww.danielmcaloon.tk
June 12, 200521 yr Hm, what shall I say... I like the idea a lot because I live in the Netherlands, but somehow these add-ons usually don't work for me, mainly because the always are so pixelated... The screenshots on the Horizon-site are zoomed out A LOT to prevent you from seeing that, I think... But just take a look at http://www.horizonsimulation.com/UK/VFRNL-Screenshot3.jpg which isn't zoomed out that much and you will see EVERY pixel, specially at the bottom of the picture. I always fly with the cockpit view (like most pilots do...) so when you do look outside out of the side window, what you will see is usually what you see at the bottom of that picture. Instead of making things look more real, it always makes me more aware of that I'm flying above a picture... And one that is scanned bad, at a too low resolution... In the distance it's quit nice, but everything that is close to you isn't.All in all it spoils the idea of really being there, something the default scenery doesn't do. Okay, you cannot really fly VFR with the default scenery, but at least it looks sharp...I also flew above the England VFR scenery (which everyone seems to like a lot) but I didn't like it at all for the same reason: I was clearly flying above and looking at a badly scanned photograph... But I'm happy for the people who DO like it! :)
