Hardware, software, user incompetence.Think that just about covers it.;-) In truth, as you have never traced the cause suggest you remove FS from the hardrive, defrag the the receiving drive, check chipset, graphic and sound drivers, then install a basic install of FS and the 9.1 update, check that, then start adding back the addons one at a time, perhaps imaging your FS setup as you go, to make it easier to go back one step.In truth, there are so many things that CAN go wrong, it's almost impossible to list. However, CTD's are so rare if you have a properly set up OS that my guess would be that you have to deal with that first - possibly with a reformat and reinstall.Allcott
