Crashes while "Loading terrain"

My freshly installed MSFS2004 (no add ons) crashes while displaying the "Loading terrain" message on the progress bar. It crashes to the desktop at around 15% loading with no error message at all. I have patched to v9.1 but that didn't help. I have also swapped to another set of install CD:s and reinstalled twice, but that didn't help either. I can run MSFS2004 on my old desktop computer but not on my modern Win XP laptop with 512MB RAM, 1.6GHz Pentium mobile processor and an ATI Radeon 9200 Mobility gfx card.I've updated all display and sound drivers and my Win XP machine has working Direct3D (I can run other games that use Direct3D). I have also tried running the game in it's "Safe mode" and also on another WinXP account on the same laptop, but nothing works :-( Do you guys have any idea, It's been a week now and I still haven't heard anything smart from MS support.
