It's been a while since I have used fs2002, however if I recall correctly, unless you have a IFR flight planned, you will only get the regular options.
July 12, 200520 yr Doug,I want to thank you so much for responding. No, it is VFR flight..not IFR. What you are saying makes sense.Actually, when I heard ATC announce to one of the virtual pilots that they have 'his' planned flight....I think the pilot was from a commerical pilot.Thank you for responding.P.S. Is there any consensus on whether or not a 51 year old man or woman is too old to receive/complete a pilot license? I have only soloed in real life about 20 times and worked on regular student pilot touch and goes..I have never done cross country. In the dark recess of my brain, I have always been confused/worried about the communications part of flying. At any rate, thank you so much for responding Doug. It clears up this ATC situatin.Lee
July 12, 200520 yr I'm approaching 50 myself, and I'm a student. As far as I know you can get a pilots licence at any age as long as you can pass one of theflight medicals.
July 14, 200520 yr Doug, thank you for responding. I won't bother you here. I was more or elss reflecting on everything. Flight has been too much of an addiction and I"m surprised i have relatively 0 to show for it.I began flying in Germany...but the military base adjacent to the aero club closed, so went the club. I also flew onc or twice in N. Germany...distance too far....finally soloed manny times in Oregon and then flew a little In panama, Central america..but never have lived in any one place long enough to get the license...except Panama. At any rate, thank you for writing. Are you currently engaged in flying? as a student? Lee K
July 14, 200520 yr I'm not currently flying. I was having a #### of a time trying to get my medical through because of a couple of medications I'm taking for high blood pressure. The ones I'm taking are on the cardiac list that the FAA uses and they were being difficult. After several series of tests (electrocardiogram sp?) and others my doctor proved that I am fine, however after all that poop, family needs called and the flying stopped (Daughter's Collage). It's a dam shame too as I was getting free lessons from a guy I work with, so all I was paying for was the hours on the plane (cheep $45.00/hour for Cessna 172 w/IFR capibilitys) and my dues at the club. I figured I had it bagged......Ohhhhhhhh well. Perhaps after her Collage.
