July 17, 200520 yr helloI have run into a problem where when you install certain adons, meshor airfacrft or whatever , that at some point the ATC traffic starts to have a little fit where it will studder the first word, but no more. My guess is that it may have to do with a conflict wiht FS or code that is a bit off perhaps in the programing of the accessery program?? There are some planes however for example, where FS doesn't seem to have an issue however, on ocation.Has anyonew else had this problem as well, and found a way to fix it, or know if there is a fix? - kinda a pain to have to reinstall FS etc etc to get things back to nutural when things break down. Thanks Zach Bender K7LTF
July 17, 200520 yr I have noticed this and an echo effect with ATC, but it usually is in scenery intensive areas with lots of AI aircraft around - for example around Heathrow (EGLL). It does not occur all the time and only lasts for a short time. I have not found a solution to this but I imagine it is due to the load on the processor or sound card.I don't think I would reinstall FS because I would first try eliminating any addon mesh or scenery in the area and see if that has any effect. Then I would reduce the AI aircraft to see what that does. Do this one step at a time to see what causes the problem. Make backups first so you can reinstall just the items you remove. You could also try flying the same route (save the flight) with different aircraft to see if that makes any difference. I bet the more frame intensive planes with complex panels will make the problem worse.Personally, I just pretend there is bad interferance on the ATC and live with it since it usually only lasts for a minute or so.
July 17, 200520 yr Have you tried turning down the Sound Acceleration slider in DirectX? Run dxdiag and see if the slider is all the way to the right. If so move it to the left. I have mine set to Basic, I think, and that fixed the problem for me. R-
July 17, 200520 yr Try to defrag the disk - at least if you run EditVoicepack as the additional entries added by EditVoicepack might be loated far away from the original data left in the start of the file.
