News Item: FlightSimCon 2015, the third annual flight simulation and aviation conference, was held on June 13 and 14 at the New England Air Museum, Bradley International Airport, near Hartford, Connecticut.

320 attendees, 19 exhibitors, 31 sponsors, and 16 speakers made FlightSimCon 2015 the largest flight simulation-focused event in North America in the past several years. While many of the event’s attendees were pilots (seeking more information on how flight simulation could aid in their training and currency), FlightSimCon was also well-attended by flight simulation enthusiasts. The conference welcomed attendees from over 30 U.S. states, as well as from Australia, Canada, Germany, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom, and more.

Attendees of the conference enjoyed the opportunity to meet some of the biggest names in flight simulation, including Pete Wright (“Frooglesim”), AirDailyX’s D’Andre Newman, and FlightSim.Com’s Nels Anderson. X-Plane creator Austin Meyer, scenery developers Bill Womack and Kenan Ӧzϋn, PMDG’s Robert Randazzo, and Aerosoft’s Winfried Diekmann also attended the event. The conference featured a panel discussion on the future of at-home flight simulation, as well as presentations from a CFI, a Regional Airline First Officer, a private jet driver, and a retired Chief Pilot from American Airlines.

Throughout the weekend, pilots and flight simulation enthusiasts tried out a variety of flight simulation configurations on display by Boston Virtual ATC’s FSX Demonstration Team. Attendees were also able to attend how-to seminars on setting up an at-home flight simulator with hardware and configuration recommendations. More than 20 prizes donated by Just Planes, PilotsEYE.tv, Plantronics, and Wilco Publishing were given out throughout the event.

Flight simulation news organizations Frooglesim, AirDailyX, and FlightSim.Com have all posted their perspectives on the event. There are pictures and videos of the event posted on the FlightSimCon Facebook page and YouTube channel.

FlightSimCon organizers would like to thank the flight simulation community for their support of this event. The event would not be what it was you.

Once confirmed later this summer, the dates and location for the 2016 event will be posted at www.flightsimcon.com.
