Texture updates....

Featured Replies

I want to improve default textures in FS, so perhaps you guys can guide.I want to update the following textures for;Runways,Lights,Taxiways,Grass,Clouds,Water,Other generic texturesI have tried Airport Environment 7.0, is there anything better...Also I am not looking for addon airport sets. Thanks!

Airport Environment is fine; there are others, but my money stays on Chris Arrington's excellent work. For general FS textures, you might want to look at Gerrit Kranenburg's 'Blue Sphere' textures, which add real atmospheric immersion to the sim in my view. They cover all seasons and are really great. For clouds, use Chris Willis's excellent modifications. For water, use Ed Truthan's work, the OceanFX randomiser and Vilk's Vater. No better combination in my view. That'll get you going. Forgive me for not looking up all the file names for you, but they're all in the library here or over at the other major site(s). Note that the above is all freeware, which in my own case is what this hobby is all about (MAAM-SIM being an exception, being a group of volunteers!) and is the heart of this community. Others may recommend the many payware alternatives to the above.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]
