UT and Voicepack issue

Featured Replies

I finally bit the bullet and ordered UT which I've heard nothing but great things about. It says under the FAQs that some airline callsings would be missing so EditVoicePack would be needed. I installed VoicePack 3 (freeware).UT installed fine and I compiled traffic for Canada only to start. Went to YVR and saw alot of traffic on the ground and it looked great. However most, if not all, the calls on the frequencies were missing callsings (only flight numbers heard). Even with EditVoice installed. The other issue which might be related, is now I cannot hear ATC instructions but I do get the info in the ATC text box. And I do have Pilot Voice selected. But under the pilot voice settings page in FS9, there seem to be duplicates of all the options, ie:Male Voice 0Male Voice 0Male Voice 1Male Voice 1Male Voice 2Male Voice 2etcetc..Is this an issue with UT or EditVoice? Can someone who runs both give me any hints on how things should be set up with both those programs?

Ok, I finally sorted out the missing ATC instructions problem and the duplicates of the Pilot Voice options in the GUI.But even with EditVoicePack installed, I still get quite a few of the airline callsigns missing (not being recognised). Is there an order of installation to be followed with Ultimate Traffic and EditVoicePack? Does it matter which comes first?I'm guessing this is an EVP issue however the only forum that I found that is specifically to discuss EditVoice is here (http://www.flightsimmer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=56). There is no one there and no threads ever posted.I really would appreciate any input from anyone using UT with EditVoice.

http://www.editvoicepack.com/readme.html#ToC37Pay attention when restoring the default voicepack. Files needs to be deleted! It's all in the documentation but I should probably change it to a numbered list as 50% of all users tend to stop reading halfway though if it is not nicely numbered :)The forum is working, but you need to log in to read the messages. It is unfortunate - specifically as you can't see that this is the problem - but I am not running the forum myself so there is nothing I can do about it.There are a few mistakes in the callsigns of Ultimate Traffic. Use "View Missing" in EditVoicepack to at least locate the files with the problem. I KNOW this is quite bad as you should be able to correct the mistakes from within EditVoicepack, but programming it would be boring so I won't do it.EditVoicepack and UT are not touching the same sets of files in FS as all, so install order does not matter.

Hi. I actualy enjoy Editvoicepack so if you email me a list of any callsigns etc you want I will do what I can do get them done and upload them to the file library when done.Andrew BrownROARING THIRTIEShttp://www.gordiusfs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

Thanks Andrew and Lars, I think I got it fixed now.The problem was a combination of about ten odd call-signs in UT that were typed wrong or no longer active (EVP doesn't recognise them); the other issue was that quite a few of the airlines in UT had 'none' for the call-sign in their respective aircraft.cfg file. The reason for the second issue was that any airlines that were missing liveries would use a default one having 'none' for call-sign. I guess the idea is that we should go find the missing liveries and download them individually which is quite time consuming. So I just placed a recognised call-signs for now replacing all the 'none's and it seems to be working fine. Its just too bad that UT wasn't quite as complete out of the box as I would have hoped. But otherwise, its a great software and highly recommended.
