August 8, 200520 yr Recently I have been using the iFDG Airbus A320, because it is my favorite plane. It worked fine with no problems, but then I added the "Airbus A320 Sound Package" by Andre Silva. Now, when i switch to the spot or tower view, my computer restarts. This is a very annoying problem. I also occurs with the POSKY 747 with a soundset from the AVSIM library. This is realy bothering me, because I really enjoy the custom sounds that are in the library, but when I add them to a plane, my computer reboots when I switch to an exterior view. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,Mike
August 9, 200520 yr Hi MikeI had a similar problem about a year ago. On my system it turned out to be my video card drivers. At the time, I had a GeForce 4200 and was running nVidia's 45.23 drivers. I read (here on Avsim forums, most likely) that sometimes older cards respond better to older drivers, like the ones released with the card or very soon after. So I stepped my drivers back a notch (44.03 I think...can't remember) and it fixed the sound crashing in FS. Try to locate the drivers that came with your video card and use them. Remeber to uninstall your current video drivers first, then restart, then install the "originals", then restart again. Break out your lucky rabbit's foot and cross your fingers, then fire up FS9. I really hope this fixes the problem, because I know how frustrating it is. Good luck!-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!
August 10, 200520 yr I wish I could do that, but my brother needs the newest drivers for his games, Half-Life 2 and its mods. Another thing I noticed is that it only happens on certain planes with custom sounds, but not all of them. Also, it only happens if the engines are above idle for some reason, if they are idle on the ground, no problem occurs when I switch views.
