August 17, 200520 yr Anyone experience this? Whether the aircraft is idling, taxiing or in flight the throttle will toggle to 50% power. This occurs when auto-throttle is not engaged. If the throttle is above 50% (normal flight)it will throttle back to 50%. This will re-occur repeatedly after throttling back up. When idling on the stand or taxiing, the throttle will increase to 50% and will do so repeatedly. The panel(s) does not contain any auto-taxi gauges. The joystick calibration is good and was calibrated using FSUIPC latest version. This issue has occured in other versions of FSUIPC so I doubt that the culprit is FSUIPC. I do typically use 3rd party panels but it doesn't appear to be congruent with a single Panel Design Group. It has occured on everything from DHC-6 to Boeing and Airbus models. Thanks in advance for your reply(s)
August 20, 200520 yr Problem solved. Set in-game sound to "medium" from "high". All is working correctly.
August 20, 200520 yr That is a very interesting solution, and not exactly one that I would think of! Frankly, I had no idea that these two things (sound and throttle) are apparently related to such a strong extend but hey: the intricacies of FS9 are great, mysterious and almost divinely profound (grin)!I'll try to remember this. One never knows if something like this might not crop up on ones own installation, and thanks to your discovery there's a possible solution now. Thanks mate!Jaap Verduijn.
August 20, 200520 yr Strange, I have my sound set at high, but don't have the throttle problem that you are describing.ScottATP/CFII/DA20 Type Rated - Instructor Pilot (part time) - USAFA (KAFF), Colorado Springs, CO & at KCOSAOPA #00956593, since 1987Background in Corporate, Airline, and General AviationB.S. August 20, 200520 yr Hi Scott!"(...) I have my sound set at high, but don't have the trottle problem that you are describing (...)"Neither have I, but experience has taught me that any random little change, be it in hardware, software, add-on or settings, can produce the weirdest and seemingly unrelated effects. There are so many possible combinations of tiny software and hardware parts, that unexpected malfunctions can stick their ugly heads up to all of us. It's good to have a possible solution for a possible problem in advance.Be well!Jaap Verduijn.
August 21, 200520 yr oops:> forget what I said re:sound settings:> It was a two cent solution. I disconnected and reconnected the joystick, both at the joystick connector as well as the USB port. Seems that connections do get dirt/dust in them:>.....cheers.
August 21, 200520 yr That is interesting, will keep that in mind thanks :)BTW there is another wierd FS9 thing I have noticed (dont know about you guys..)The colour of the water in my FS9 changes according to the cloud-type. If I have a cumulus layer at 5000ft the water is a light blue. If I delete that leaving cirrus at 40000ft the colour changes to deep blue.I can change it to all shades of blue by mixing & matching cloud-type & layer-altitude!I use the OceanFX water-set.
