August 31, 200520 yr Hello folksHere is the dealI got planes with GPWS and others without.I would like to know if I can simply include the GPWS gauge in the panels of the aircraft that do not have one or every GPWS is tuned for a specific plane??? For example, when the GPWS gives you the warning "sink rate", such warning is triggered differently depending on the plane???What I mean is that 2000 fpm is the norm for an airliner but maybe not in a Cessna!!!The "pull up" warning I thing is triggered simply by the distance from the ground so it should not be specific from plane to plane Thank you in advance!!!Regards
August 31, 200520 yr Commercial Member As you say, if the GPWS is a gauge then it must be added to the panel.cfg file, you can usually make out the required entry if you have a look in there. The GPWS gauge would have been programmed specifically for the aircraft it was intended for and so most likely does not have the ability to be tuned for different rates of descent etc. However, keep in mind that boeing-style GPWS callouts are not fitted normally to single-engine Cessnas in the real-world.
